The revelation from the NSW gaming regulator comes as new data reveals venues with late-night trading hours almost double their pokie profits.

In addition to the guidelines, the Responsible Gambling Fund has provided funding for the regulator to carry out research on who plays poker machines after midnight, and the impact late-night trading has on problem gamblers and shift workers.
