The Kremlin has denied any involvement with the plane crash that killed Wagner chief Yevgeny Prigozhin, the mercenary who led a short-lived rebellion against Vladimir Putin.
Prigozhin was listed as a passenger on board a private jet that went down in the Tver region north-west of Moscow, killing the mercenary chief as well as seven of his co-passengers and three flight crew.

The Kremlin spokesperson said an investigation into the plane crash was continuing and that President Putin had not been in contact with Prigozhin recently. Putin broke his silence on Prigozhin's death on Thursday confirming a probe had been launched to determine what caused the plane to crash which would be pursued “till the end”.
