Environment Canada projects heavy rain lasting through Wednesday afternoon or evening along large parts of the North Shore.
SUPERIOR NORTH -- A special weather statement is in effect for much of the North Shore, with heavy rain and isolated thunderstorms expected.
Areas including from Marathon and Schreiber to Nipigon and Rossport are expected to receive between 30 to 50 millimetres of rain Wednesday, as showers and isolated thunderstorms develop early Wednesday morning ahead of a cold front . Enviroment Canada said the rain is expected to last until Wednesday afternoon or evening, and warns residents to practice caution as heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. In the Thunder Bay area, Environment Canada warned of a risk of thunderstorm Wednesday morning, with showers expected to end around noon, then cloudy with a 60 percent chance of showers.
