Thanksgiving weekend weather for the Sudbury area is a real turkey
The special weather statement issued for Sudbury by Environment Canada is expected to continue into Monday, Thanksgiving Day."Rain continues today. Snow likely tonight into Monday morning.""Additional rainfall of 15 to 25 millimetres giving weekend totals of up to 50 mm. Several centimetres of snow, mainly on colder surfaces and higher elevation areas."
Rain will continue today for much of Northeastern Ontario and may mix with snow at times. The greatest chance for accumulating snowfall will come tonight into Monday morning. Although snowfall accumulations on roads and highways are expected to be minimal, several centimetres may accumulate on colder surfaces such as vehicles, grassy areas and rooftops.
Any snow will likely change back to rain on Monday. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. For information concerning flooding, please consult your local Conservation Authority or Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry office. Visit Ontario.ca/floods for the latest details. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to or tweet reports using #ONStorm.
