Spain prepare for Japan clash with fond memories of Palmerston FMTNews FMTSports
WELLINGTON: The Spain squad had “great memories” of their training camp in the New Zealand town of Palmerston North and only moved to Wellington early for logistical reasons, coach Jorge Vilda said on Sunday.
“It was a very favourable setting for good performance and we took away some great memories. We are in Wellington for logistical reasons and we are sure that we will be very happy here as well.” In 2014, his Spain team lost 2-0 to Japan in the under-17 Women’s World Cup final, a match that featured several of the players from both sides who will play on Monday.
