Several areas in Luzon will continue to have rain showers due to the southwest monsoon, the weather bureau said Monday.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail in Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Abra and Benguet.Moderate to heavy rains may cause flooding and landslides in these areas.Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.Strong winds and rough seas will prevail in extreme Northern Luzon.
Rough to very rough seas are likely over the northern seaboard of Northern Luzon. Fishing boats and other small sea vessel are advised not to venture into the sea, and larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves.The rest of Luzon will have moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas.Pagasa said cloud clusters were spotted in Mindanao but these are not likely to develop into a low pressure area .
