* SOUTHERN ALBERTA A massive weather system stalls over Southern Alberta, sending record amounts of moisture into rivers and creeks across Southern Alberta. The Bow River flows eight times as fast as normal; the Elbow River 12 times as fast. More than 100,000 Albertans are evacuated from their homes; 32 states of emergency are declared across the southern half of the province; five people die in the flood; and, massive damage and destruction leads to $6 billion in costs.
