Vancouver firefighters extinguished a two-alarm house fire in the southeast part of the city Monday morning.
Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services spokesperson Jonathan Gormick said crews were called to the scene in 2600 block of Lynbrook Drive around 9:30 a.m. Heavy black smoke was pouring out of the first floor of the single-family home. Gormick said fire crews made entry into the building and quickly realized the fire had spread to the second floor.
“The captain made the decision to pull all crews out of the building,” said Gormick, who noted that nobody was home at the time of the fire. The fire was knocked down by 10:40 a.m. but Gormick says crews remain on scene to take care of clean up and salvaging.
