Many vehicles are stuck, some off the road, including an ambulance in the off-ramp from the Outer Ring to Thorburn Road. Vehicles are stuck on the Witless Bay Line so Transportation has closed that highway until further notice.
One of the big issues this morning is with visibility as it’s actually windier than yesterday with gusts to 85 km/h at St. John’s International Airport. There are whiteouts in many areas and travel is not recommended in areas prone to whiteouts.The Avalon Peninsula was virtually shut down yesterday but it’s a different story today. Many are going with delayed openings to allow people time to dig out and get on the move.
