"This is really a tragedy, a tragedy locals have been warning was always going to happen," Mr Cunningham said. "We looked out the window and we could see three children, probably aged about 12 or 13 years old, they were armed with golf clubs trying to smash their way into our house." "It was a pretty traumatic situation, I think we are all pretty shaken up by what had happened, but it was probably at the lower end of the offending that police were having to respond to on Friday night and Saturday morning."
