Six in 10 Canadians support right to safe and legal abortions, survey says

HALIFAX, N.S. — Six in 10 Canadians completely support the right to a safe and legal abortion, and more Atlantic Canadians are also joining the camp, a recent survey has found.has compared the data collected in September 2023 and June 2022 to find out whether Canadians' opinions had changed amid the increasing attacks on abortion rights in the United States.

Analysis showed that the results this year remain consistent, with 80 per cent of Canadians continuing to show their support, up by three points.About one in 10 are opposed to having the option of a safe and legal abortion in this country, up by one point compared with last year.
