Six Flags Fiesta Texas’ owner is rolling out new equipment, live wait times for rides, digital wallets and other features at parks and on its app and website.
Six Flags Entertainment Corp. is making a slew of technology upgrades to its theme parks, website and mobile app to improve visitors’ experience and the company’s bottom line. The Arlington -based owner of Six Flags Fiesta Texas and 26 other parks described the changes, some of which are powered by artificial intelligence, as a “complete digital transformation” of its operation.
SeaWorld, Six Flags see more visitors in fourth quarter. Both companies posted lower profit, though. The company said it will add real-time video and photo equipment on roller coasters, new sensors to provide live wait times for rides, self-serve food and beverage kiosks, QR codes at tables for ordering food and self-checkout options at retail stores. Automated toll plaza entries will use computer vision and AI to recognize license plates, enabling cars to come and go every three seconds.

The technology updates stem from a “digital alliance” the company announced in January involving partnerships with Google, HCL Tech, Dell, Snowflake, Fueled and Pure Imagination Studios. “We are transforming Six Flags into a technology-centric entertainment company,” Omar Jacques Omran, chief digital officer at Six Flags, said in a statement.
