Police watchdog for Ontario says two members of Sault Ste. Marie Police Service have been accused of sexual assault as a result of five different complaints; two investigations have since been terminated
The independent agency that looks into incidents involving police and civilians resulting in serious injury, death or allegations of sexual assault in Ontario is providing more details on the allegations of sexual assault brought against Sault Ste. Marie Police Service.
A spokesperson for SIU informed SooToday via email Tuesday the investigations involve five different complainants bringing the allegations forward. The allegations involve two members of Sault Ste. Marie Police Service. “Every consideration will be made to re-open the case if the affected persons wish to come forward,” said SIU spokesperson Kristy Denette.
