PETALING JAYA: A woman who had been reported missing by family members two days prior was found dead in a car.

"In the history of Chinese Independent Schools in Sarawak, this is the first time that an independent Chinese School has received such a big sum of donation from a private charitable organisation such as Lee Foundation," said SUPP Dudong chairman Wong Ching Yong on Saturday .

Speaking at a press conference to announce the donation, Wong said after the school hostel was burnt down in October 2020, he launched a"One Person, One Ringgit" fundraising campaign and sought allocations through various channels to reconstruct the hostel. Following that, he mentioned to the Chinese Weekly management team that Citizen Middle School, a Chinese independent school, needs funds to reconstruct its hostel.

"They immediately suggested applying to Lee Foundation for financial assistance and said they would strongly support the application of Citizen Middle School which was submitted to the Lee Foundation on July 31, 2023. Lee Foundation approved RM500,000 to the school on Oct 19," he said.
