Singapore cuts annual growth outlook on weak global demand
Official data released today show Singapore’s economy expanded 0.1% on-quarter in the three months to June, slightly softer than the 0.3% growth reported in advance estimates in July. – EPA pic, August 11, 2023.
SINGAPORE today cut its economic growth forecast for this year owing to weak demand from key export markets including China and the United States. The Southeast Asian nation’s performance is often seen as a barometer of the global environment because of its reliance on international trade.
