The 35-year-old will go for gold in the final against home favourite Aurelie Aubert on Sept 2.

SINGAPORE – The tears flowed freely as Jeralyn Tan hugged her coach Yurnita Omar after she secured a historic Paralaympic boccia medal for Singapore at the South Paris Arena 1 in the French capital on Sept 1.

With at least a silver medal assured, Tan will play home favourite and world No. 16 Aurelie Aubert in the final on Sept 2. Aubert, 27, had defeated Bermuda’s Yushae Andrade in a tiebreak after their semi-final ended 2-2. Having become only the Republic’s fourth Paralympic medallist after swimmers Yip Pin Xiu and Theresa Goh and equestrienne Laurentia Tan, she will now have the chance to become only the second Paralympic champion after Yip, who won two backstroke golds at these Games.
