B.C. government is moving forward with an election promise to build a new medical school at Simon Fraser University’s Surrey campus
British Columbia’s New Democrat government is moving forward with an election promise to build a new medical school at Simon Fraser University’s Surrey campus.
The premier says it’s part of the government’s strategy to train more family doctors and will be the first new medical school in Western Canada in 55 years. Eby was sworn in earlier this month to succeed Horgan and has been making a series of announcements since then on crime, housing and health care.
Eby introduced measures on the weekend to triple the number of internationally trained family doctors who can become licensed in B.C. to 96 by March 2024.
