Private school educations, world travels and opportunities to turn their “adversities” into well-documented triumphs.
Buried deep in Dylan Sidoo’s Facebook site is a picture of the Hollywood sign, bright and white against the scrub of the Hollywood Hills.Sidoo, then a senior at Vancouver’s St. George’s School, was on his way to Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts.
His younger brother Jordan’s achievements were just as worthy. Jordan won an “adversity award” at St. George’s in 2014, and was lauded in news articles for “persevering through the surgeries, the braces and the rehabilitation” required after he was born with club feet, which he claimed were “the most severe in the history of Children’s Hospital.”
But according to an indictment filed in U.S. District of Massachusetts Court, David Sidoo felt his sons needed even more of a leg up. The statement also said that David Sidoo is presumed innocent and that he intends to plead not guilty. The results of both tests were allegedly sent to administrators at Chapman University, where Dylan was later accepted.
