Big-name retailers including Pandora and WHSmith have left the shopping centre in recent years
Part of a Nottinghamshire shopping centre littered with empty units is set to be demolished in the new year in an attempt to reverse the "decline" of the area. The Priory Centre in Worksop has seen companies including Pandora and WHSmith leave in recent years and the majority of the units at the site are now vacant.
The overall redevelopment is expected to take around 12 months to complete and will see The Priory Centre get new features including a food court, indoor adventure play area, bowling alley and indoor market. Councillor Steve Scotthorne, the cabinet member for identity and place, said: "Town centres across the country, including Worksop, have been in decline for years due to several different factors.
