Novelist Shauna MacKeigan said the response she has been receiving for her first offering is heartwarming. CONTRIBUTEDAs a young girl growing up in Alder Point, Shauna MacKeigan loved to write poetry. She could find inspiration just about anywhere in the picturesque coastal community.
“I had never known my grandfather, he died before I was born, but I knew he had some very tragic events happen in his life. As I delved further into his history, I found an article which appeared in a local newspaper about the events that happened in 1948. MacKeigan works as an accounting assistant with New Dawn Development. She said the bulk of her book was written during her lunch hour at work.
“The support from family and friends has been overwhelming and it has definitely exceeded my expectations. The book is currently in its second printing since it launched in April, so I am pretty pleased.
