SHELDON MacLEOD: If you don't remember the Glaze Report on Nova Scotia education, don't worry, neither do the politicians

I did get to speak with Avis Glaze after the report was released. And I’m in no way criticizing her credentials or her perspective. She was very clear with me at the time that she came in with an open mind when it came to the task she was hired for. And the critics of the day said elected school boards were ineffective and a waste of resources. Glaze pointed to a 63 percent acclamation rate for the seats in the school board elections in 2016.

And it was something that I saw numerous times during my terms on the School Advisory Committee. If there was any discussion about school closures, it became very local and very political for obvious reasons.That job fell to the elected members along with the parent volunteers on the SACs.GRANT FROST: Nova Scotia education sector finally free of Liberal yoke

That’s right about now. And I don’t know if the education minister is interested in following up on that.
