My wife was wondering who I was listening to on the weekend and I was wondering what I was listening to as Scott Adams was going off about race relations.
Can an artist's political views be separated from their work? But for anyone who enjoyed his take on the cubically challenged, that’s your right. It’s a free world.
But Adams focussed in on the 26 per cent of Black respondents who disagreed. He called them a hate group. And added this to his online rant: “Based on the current way things are going, the best advice I would give to white people is to get the hell away from Black people.”Media outlets started writing about the pushback and the fact newspapers started announcing immediately that they’d be dropping the Dilbert strip because of it.
I did read that statement that called out his position on race and race relations. I walked over to my coworkers on the other side of the building, and they definitely had Dilbert strips for this week. But the decision was made to pull it and leave the space blank today. Twitter Owner Elon Musk weighed in by calling the media racist towards whites and Asians. Again, totally on brand for the guy who says he’s all about free speech but has tweaked his algorithm to make sure we all see his tweets, whether we are subscribed to him or not. I guess Musk also feels journalists are part of a hate group.Any group that is intolerant of another would fit into that bizarre definition if you want to take it to an extreme.Do you despise broccoli? You may be in a hate group.
