A grandmother has hit out at the Queensland government for failing to address the youth crime crisis, with a couple who were targeted twice in a week saying they were sleeping with one eye open.
The Sunshine State is witnessing a surge in crime, such as assaults, break and enters and car thefts, from young and adult offenders following the COVID-19 pandemic.

Picture: Sky News Australia A woman was woken at 5am by officers who had stormed into her family home after it was broken into, with her car stolen by a group of teens.
"Yet, these kids are back out, released.
