Liberal MP Dave Sharma and independent candidate for Wentworth Allegra Spender have shied away from answering who their second preference will be when voting in the upcoming federal election.

“I don’t know all the candidates … nominations haven’t closed,” Mr Sharma said when questioned by Chief Anchor Kieran Gilbert at the Sky News People’s Forum on Thursday.

Ms Spender was equally coy, saying, “I think we’re doing the draw tomorrow, so I’ll look at it a bit more carefully then”. “I’m not sure yet what I’m doing, so I’ll just be open to that and get to the candidates,” Ms Spender said.
