'I thought I would have got a message to say (something) even if it was the federation's decision or whatever, but no'
Sharlene Mawdsley can't wait to let her running do the talking for her again after such a bittersweet World indoors experience.
READ MORE:Sharlene Mawdsley thanks fans for helping her through "hurt" as she returns to the track following controversial World Championship DQ"I haven’t heard of it before, to be honest," said the Tipp woman. "I remember a few years ago people were getting disqualified but it was for lane infringement.
Mawdsley heard of the appeal as she was getting physio after the race and it was devastating when Team Ireland's counter-appeal was unsuccessful. "I've raced her a good few times but no, I haven't heard anything from her, which is kind of like...I'm really good friends with a lot of the girls I've raced against so I thought I would have got a message to say even if it was the federation's decision or whatever, but no."
"So it’s definitely helped me so far, so hopefully...once I go onto the track now I want to have all of the work done so I just let my running do the talking."But I’ve taken a lot of confidence into outdoors. I’ll definitely have my own lane there." "I even get messages now saying, ‘Oh, it’s amazing to see that you’re going to be at the Olympics’ and I don’t reply to them because I don’t have my feet on the plane," Mawdsley said.
