KOTA KINABALU: A seven-year-old boy was fatally wounded after being shot in the head with a home-made pump gun while playing with his friends in Sabah’s interior Keningau district.

Police have so far rounded up seven people for further investigations following the incident at Kampung Sosogoh Salong Pagalungan on Monday .Keningau OCPD Deputy Supt Nor Rafidah Kasim said the boy died while receiving treatment at the Nabawan health clinic.

She said the boy’s remains had been sent for an autopsy at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital’s forensics department here. Meanwhile, a healthy newborn baby girl was found in a red plastic bag placed at the back of a four-wheel drive vehicle in Kampung Sulat, Sook in Keningau on Tuesday . "The baby is in stable condition and has been sent to the Keningau hospital for further checking," she said.
