A group of teens have been arrested following a wild crime spree across New South Wales overnight.
"It was about three or four times they raced up and down the island here," witness Grant Plummer told 9News. Police allege eight teens arrived in two stolen vehicles at St Huberts Island on the Central Coast.They are accused of ditching them before stealing three more - a Mercedes, a BMW X5 and a Porsche - during an alleged crime spree that involved allegedly breaking into homes armed with large knives.
However, when the teenagers tried to drive away from one of the homes, they were blocked in by a police car.The vehicle allegedly rammed into the police car, prompting officers to arrest two teens.Five teens packed into another vehicle allegedly sped off towards Sydney.The teens were taken to a Gosford Police Station, where they are assisting officers with inquiries.
A total of seven teens were arrested, police allege four of the teenagers were out on bail for committing similar crimes."I'm aware of one offender that ran away from the BMW as we say we appeal for any," said Brisbane Water Police District Acting Inspector, Evan Davies.Detectives have begun investigations into the circumstances around the matter.
