The New South Wales service is directing people in Menindee to evacuate before 10am on Friday, with the Darling River expected to peak at 10.7 metres Saturday morning.
The SES has issued an evacuation order for residents in low-lying areas of Menindee.abc.net.au/news/menindee-residents-told-to-evacuate-darling-river-peak/101815480An evacuation order has been issued by the State Emergency Service for multiple Menindee residents in New South Wales' far west.
Properties and houses along Irrigation Road, McInnes Road, Pooncarie Road and the Wilcannia-Menindee Road are among those that could be worst affected. SES public information officer Scott McLennan said the organisation was working closely with residents in threatened areas to help them evacuate as quickly as possible.
"At this stage we believe there could be anywhere between 30 and 35 properties affected by this increase in water flow," he said.
