NSW is facing a shortfall in the number of houses it delivers, but now has an even more ambitious target under an agreement reached with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
to set a new target to build 1.2 million homes across the country over the next five years.
However, under the new deal that figure will rise to 75,000 a year. The latest projections for NSW show the state is expected to deliver just 36,000 new homes a year for the next five years.Wolter Peeters “Delivering our fair share of the new target means delivering 75,000 new homes. We know we have a serious challenge ahead of us to get this done and will continue to do everything we can to fast-track the delivery of homes that we desperately need.”
