Septage rules for poultry, pig farms in Cebu City pushed

A CEBU City councilor is pushing for expanding the city’s septage management regulation to cover piggeries and poultry farms and imposing fees and penalties for non-compliance.Councilor Joel Garganera proposed amendments to Sections 3, 6, 15, 19, 25, and 27 of City Ordinance 2398, or the Septage Management Program of the City of Cebu.During the council’s regular session on Wednesday, Jan.

During the public hearing on Wednesday, Annabeth Roble from the Environmental Management Bureau in Central Visayas of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources in Central Visayas suggested to include in the definition of terms for the piggery and poultry farms not only for the parcel of lands, but also edifice, building, and facility that used for raising, depasturing, and watering of swines and other domesticated fowl.
