PETALING JAYA: A man, who was allegedly hit by Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) officers during a round up of stray dogs, is now being investigated by police for preventing them from carrying out their job.
Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid said a report was lodged that the man had made it difficult for city council officers to do their work.
“This is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for causing injury and Section 186 for obstructing officers from carrying out their duties,” he said. Earlier, there had been reports that a senior citizen was roughed up during a dog-catching operation in Taman Kanagapuram here.The man, Patrick Khoo, 69, logged a report claiming that dog catchers had swiped the dog-catching loop he was holding against the left side of his face when a tussle broke out.
