Two separate shoplifting incidents in Davao City involving a senior citizen stealing hot dogs and a woman stealing chocolates sparked emotional reactions on social media. Both suspects will face charges in court.

A male senior citizen was apprehended for stealing hot dogs at a supermarket in Lanang, Barangay Pampanga, Davao City on December 15, 2024, at 4:40 PM. The suspect, from Barangay Sasa, Davao City , allegedly took hot dogs worth P1,667.35 without paying at the cashier. Later, on December 16, 2024, at 6 PM, a 27-year-old woman was apprehended for shoplifting chocolates at an establishment in Km. 7, Bangkal, Davao City .

The suspect, known as Yasmin, was caught by guards with multiple chocolate products in her shoulder bag, exiting the store without paying. The recovered products were valued at P3,337.50. Both incidents attracted emotional online comments as the stolen items were allegedly intended for birthdays. Despite the public's reactions, both suspects will be charged in court
