KUALA LUMPUR: The World Health Organisation (WHO) advises Malaysians to take a Covid-19 self-test before heading back to their hometowns for Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
Apart from that, the organisation also advised packing hand sanitisers and masks as protection to prevent Covid-19 from spreading to the elderly.
It said this in a tweet via its @WHOMalaysia account which was also retweeted by the Health Ministry. Earlier, the Keeper of the Rulers' Seal announced that Muslims in Malaysia will celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri on Saturday . The number of Covid-19 patient admissions to Health Ministry hospitals per 100,000 residents was reported to have increased by 26.2% in the 15th epidemiological week from April 9 to 15 compared to the previous week.
In a statement recently, MoH said that most patients are high-risk groups such as the elderly and individuals with comorbidities. - Bernama
