The Selangor Mentri Besar Ibrahim has been recognized by the United Nations Global Compact Network Malaysia and Brunei for outstanding partnership and sustainable development efforts in the 'Partnership for the Goals' category.
SHAH ALAM: The Selangor Mentri Besar Ibrahim (MBI) has received the United Nations Global Compact Network Malaysia and Brunei (UNGCMYB) 2024 Forward Faster Sustainability Award in the 'Partnership for the Goals' category. The award, introduced by UNGCMYB, recognizes Selangor MBI's efforts and dedication towards sustainable development achieved through impactful collaborations, aligned with the 'UN Sustainable Development Goals ' (UNSDGs).
The award focuses on the Sabak Bernam Development Area (SABDA) initiative which aims to strengthen the local community and build a sustainable ecosystem in Sabak Bernam, in line with the goals set in the First Selangor Plan (RS1). The SABDA initiative promotes sustainable economic growth, balances social welfare and environmental conservation, enhances agriculture through technology, and promotes agro-tourism and eco-tourism in the area. The award was received by Muhammad Hudhaifa Ahmad, Chief of the Strategic Division of the MBI Selangor Group, at the UNGCMYB Sustainability Celebration Night 2024
