SHAH ALAM: The Selangor police contingent denied a claim that has gone viral on the Telegram application on a letter requesting for financial contributions to sponsor the recent 216th Police Day programme.
Selangor police chief Datuk Hussien Omar Khan denied the existence of such a letter which was shared by “Edisi Siasat” on the app in question issued by a department in the Selangor contingent, saying that funds of RM50,000 were needed and could be channelled to the account of a company.
"The police would like to advise the public not to share or disseminate any news from unreliable sources. “Anyone caught spreading fake messages or news can face action under the law,” he said in a statement today . - Bernama
