Steinfeld to an audience of around 100 gathered for a Yom HaShoah Commemoration.
Steinfeld, the son of Polish Holocaust survivors, was born in a displaced persons camp in Germany. The author has been living in P.E.I. since 1980 and was the keynote speaker at the Yom HaShoah Commemoration. “It’s a good legacy for future researchers that want to find out through literature what was going on in P.E.I. – that we did have Jews and we did have Jews that thought about the Holocaust,” said Steinfeld.
