|Daniel MacAlpine and Nicolas West were kayaking between D'Arcy Island and Island View Beach on April 20, 2024 and had not returned by April 21.

Sidney/North Saanich RCMP say the two men were kayaking between Island View Beach and D’Arcy Island on April 20 and have not returned. MacAlpine is described as a 36-year-old man, approximately 5’10” tall and 150 pounds. West is described as a 26-year-old man approximately 6’5″ tall and 170 pounds. Representatives from the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre, Canadian Coast Guard, Coast Guard Auxiliary and the RCMP are assisting with the search.
