Researchers have unveiled a new wearable robot that independently walks to and docks with paralyzed users, enabling them to wear it without assistance.
The robot uses a frontal-docking method instead of a rear-sitting method, allowing people to wear the robot immediately without getting out of the wheelchairThis innovative robot can walk to the user, allowing them to put it on directly from their wheelchairs without needing assistance from others.
Its development purpose differs from other rehabilitation therapy and muscle strength assisting robots currently supplied nationally by Angel Robotics. However, it has the same fundamental problem that all wearable robots face: they require assistance from others to be worn. Additionally, before being worn, the robot can walk autonomously like a humanoid and approach the user.
The balance control performance was enhanced to enable the free use of both hands while standing upright and to allow several steps to be taken without a cane.In collaboration with Angel Robotics, all essential components of the robot, including the motor, reducer, motor driver, and main circuit, have been produced domestically.
