The early investigation included a canvass of the 1800 block of Drouillard where Hall lived, but the investigative notes police have from back then provide little information about the houses in that neighbourhood. The notes don’t mention Hall. “We owe the original crime scene investigators a huge debt of gratitude because this case would likely never have been solved without their very careful evidence collection,” Moore said. “And they couldn’t possibly have known what the future would hold.Article content
But more significantly, they compared crime scene DNA with samples provided to the Family Tree DNA and GEDMatch databases, which give users the option of allowing law enforcement agencies to see their accounts. GEDMatch was also used to identify the Golden State Killer in California in 2018.Article content
