The MCMC has denied a purported email allegedly sent by the Chairman claiming to offer assistance to transfer RM270,000 from TM to a personal bank account. Scam victims are urged to call 997 immediately.

The MCMC reminded the public to stay alert and not to be fooled by emails sent from unknown sources. The commission reminded users not to provide their personal details such as online banking credentials and personal identification details to unknown parties. Anyone who has made any transactions for the so-called processing fee to receive the cash prize money is urged to call the National Scam Response Centre hotline at 997 immediately.
