Canada and Saudi Arabia normalized diplomatic relations in May, ending a rift of nearly five years

The 2014 light-armoured-vehicle contract between General Dynamics Land Systems-Canada and the Saudi monarchy was slated to run as many as 14 years – which means it’s near the end of its term. The deal fuelled major controversy for both the Harper and Trudeau governments in part because such agreements are brokered by a Canadian Crown corporation.
