Menteri Pelancongan, Kesenian, Kebudayaan, Belia dan Sukan Sarawak, Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, berkata negeri itu boleh membuat keputusan sendiri berkaitan penganjuran konsert artis antarabangsa.

Katanya, dua artis yang mengambil bahagian di “Festival Rainforest World Music” di Sarawak tahun lalu tidak dibenarkan membuat persembahan di negeri lain kerana gaya pemakaian dan persembahan mereka.“Bagaimanapun, kami benarkan. Ini menunjukkan kebebasan atau autonomi kita di sini, kita boleh membuat keputusan sendiri.”

Garis panduan baharu itu yang berkuat kuasa tahun depan, melarang artis antarabangsa mengadakan konsert besar pada malam dan ketika sambutan perayaan Islam.
