Former 2NE1 member Sandara Park expresses her condolences and shares a heartfelt message for the late Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu.
Sandara Park , the former member of the popular K-pop group 2NE1, has joined the chorus of celebrities expressing grief over the passing of Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu , best known for her role in the iconic drama ' Meteor Garden '. Park took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share a heartfelt message for the late star. A Filipino user had previously posted a video of Park singing the ' Meteor Garden ' soundtrack 'Ni Yao De Ai' during the Kaohsiung New Year's Eve Party in January.
Park responded to the video with a poignant message: 'Rest in peace Barbie Hsu. I got influenced by you since when I started my career. We will always remember you.' Hsu gained international recognition for her portrayal of the spirited Dong Shan Cai in 'Meteor Garden'. The series, which follows Shan Cai's interactions with four wealthy boys at her school, became a cultural phenomenon in Asia and beyond.Other stars from 'Meteor Garden', including Ken Chu and Jerry Yan, have also paid tribute to Hsu. Rainie Yang, who played Shan Cai's best friend in the drama, also honored her memory. Even Filipino actor Yasser Marta, known for his role in 'My Ilonggo Girl', paid tribute by singing the Tagalog version of one of the drama's soundtracks, 'Can't Help Fallin'.' Hsu sadly passed away at the age of 48 on Monday due to pneumonia. She leaves behind her husband, South Korean musician DJ Koo, and two children from her previous marriage to Wang Xiao Fei, which ended in divorce in 2021
