Kota Kinabalu: A full economic value chain is important to realise the full value of the Industrial Timber Plantation (ITP) in Sabah, according to Forest Solutions Malaysia Managing Director Glen Mac Nair.
While discussing what would be a sustainable, attractive, and competitive ITP investment policy from the perspective of being a foreign direct investment, Glen said to thrive in a competitive market, a geographically small island such as Sabah must prioritise pioneering and inventive wooden products over mass-producing low-value alternatives. “The availability of a sustainable and consistent supply of wood serves as a catalyst for downstream product innovation.
