The emergency department at the Saanich Peninsula Hospital will be closed overnight on Friday and Saturday.
The hospital’s ER will be closed from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. both Friday and Saturday, and will reopen from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. each day.Sign up for the CHEK Now daily email newsletter to get breaking news and the day's top stories sent to your email.Island Health said anyone experiencing a medical emergency should call 911, or if possible, go to Royal Jubilee Hospital or Victoria General Hospital.
It added both Island Health and BC Emergency Health Services have protocols in place to ensure patients are transported to the appropriate site. Island Health said it acknowledges this is not an ideal situation for the community and sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience experienced by this temporary service reduction.
