Councillors willing to consider Braefoot lacrosse box as tree-selling site
Christmas trees may once again be sold at the Braefoot lacrosse box this winter after Saanich council indicated it would be open to the possibility.
It could be an early Christmas present for Santa’s Forest, an Invermere company that had been selling trees at the lacrosse box for 27 years before it was told to move last year when the Saanich parks department ruled it couldn’t set up shop there without being affiliated with a charity or fundraiser.
Kim Frocklage, owner of Santa’s Forest, said the lacrosse box on McKenzie Avenue had become part of many families’ Christmas traditions. Frocklage also noted the box was ideally suited for the venture and that she would be willing to partner with a charity again in order to return.
