Winger Ryan Reaves is wasting no time getting his new Toronto teammates used to more noise, on and off the ice.

“I hope he tries that,” Reaves quipped at the Leafs annual charity golf outing in Milton. “That would be interesting, that would be fun.The Leafs had seemingly addressed Cup tournament toughness with last year’s late additions of defenceman Luke Schenn and centre Ryan O’Reilly. They beat the Tampa Bay Lightning in the first round, but NHL hit leader Schenn didn’t stay, nor O’Reilly, in part for family reasons.

“Maybe something that’s been missing is grit over the last couple of years,” Reaves observed. “I think those guys fit the mould of what we need here.”
