The Ukrainian Parliament has taken a swipe at Elon Musk after the SpaceX owner mocked President Volodymyr Zelensky for asking his allies for financial aid.
Musk on Monday shared an image to his platform X, formerly known as Twitter, with a photo of Zelensky captioned: “When it’s been 5 minutes and you haven’t asked for a billion dollars in aid.”
“Why do mock a brave leader who leads his nation in its heroic fight for their freedom? Have you no shame?” one user said.“Not only we have to fight for survival alone against the largest country in the world, but also we have to be mocked for asking for a small help,” a third added. The European Union recently proposed a €5 billion military aid package, which will include training 40,000 soldiers. It comes as Zelensky held his first Defence Industries Forum in Kyiv, where 252 leading companies from over 30 countries gathered to discuss defence against Moscow.
