Moscow has made a rare public concession following a deadly Ukrainian missile assault that claimed massive troop casualties on New Year's Day.

Although the exact figure has not been verified, Moscow said 63 died in the blast in the Russian-controlled city of Makiivka in Ukraine’s east.
