In its first comments on the deadly plane crash, the Kremlin has hit out at accusations it killed Wagner Group leader Yevgeny Prigozhin.
Calls claims Vladimir Putin ordered Wagner boss Yevgeny Prigozhin killed an "absolute lie".The Kremlin says Western suggestions that Russian mercenary bosson its orders were an "absolute lie" while declining to definitively confirm his death, citing the need to wait for test results.
Yevgeny Prigozhin spent nine years in prisons for crimes including robbery and fraud and was released in 1990, towards the end of the Soviet Union. Wagner also supported Russia in its invasion of Ukraine but, in June, the group's fighters took control of the southern city of Rostov-on-Don and shot down a number of military helicopters, killing their pilots, as they advanced towards Moscow.
Russian investigators have opened a probe into what happened, but have not yet said what they suspect caused the plane to suddenly fall from the sky northwest of Moscow.When will the test results be out?
